Convert JPG Images to the Format You Actually Need
JPG works in most places, and it’s still one of the most common image formats out there.
But sometimes you need something else. Maybe you want a sharper image for design work, a smaller file for a website, or a GIF for a simple visual animation.
This converter helps you switch formats without any extra steps or confusion. Upload your JPG, pick the format you want, and download the result when it’s ready.
JPG to PNG, WEBP, or GIF — One Tool, Three Options
Image formats aren’t all built for the same purpose. That’s why converting your JPG can be useful depending on what you’re working on.
Here’s what each option is best for:
PNG is best when you want a clear image with no quality loss. It’s commonly used for design files, screenshots, logos, and anything where sharp edges matter.
WEBP is a newer format made for smaller file sizes. It’s popular on websites because it helps pages load faster without making images look blurry.
GIF is mostly used for simple animations, but it’s also a format that still works smoothly across older platforms and browsers.
You can convert one image or convert a group of images at the same time — whatever fits your workflow.
Supported Files & Upload Limits
This converter only accepts JPG files, which keeps the results consistent and avoids random formatting issues during conversion. If you’re looking to convert the other image formats, please refer to the other tool (convert to JPG)
Supported input types:
.jpg
.jpeg
Limits:
Upload up to 20 images at once. After conversion you can simply refresh and upload your next batch.
Each file can be up to 5 MB
If you try uploading something that isn’t a JPG, the tool will block it right away so you don’t waste time wondering why it didn’t work.
There’s no limit on how often you can use this converter.
No account is required, and there’s nothing you need to install. You can convert a single JPG or upload a batch whenever you need to.
Batch Conversion Without the Extra Work
If you’ve ever had to convert images one at a time, you already know how slow that gets.
Here, you can upload up to 20 JPG files in one go, select the format you want, and download your converted images as they finish.
Not Sure What to Convert To?
If you’re unsure which output format makes the most sense, this is the easiest way to decide:
Pick PNG when quality matters more than file size. If you're working with design assets, exporting graphics, or saving something you don’t want compressed further, PNG is usually the safest choice.
Pick WEBP if your goal is reducing file size. It’s a great option for website images, product photos, and anything where page speed matters.
Pick GIF if you need animation support or you’re working with a tool or platform that still relies on GIFs for motion graphics.
Some conversions give you more control than others.
For WEBP and GIF, you’ll see a quality options so you can decide what matters more: image detail or smaller file size.
Higher quality keeps more detail (but the file will usually be bigger)
Lower quality reduces size (and can help pages load faster)
For PNG, the slider isn’t needed. PNG exports are lossless, so the result stays consistent by default. If you want to compress .png files. Checkout our image compressor tool.
Privacy Comes Standard
This tool is meant to help you convert images — not collect them.
Your uploads aren’t stored, reused, or shared. They’re not used for marketing or tracking, and there’s no personal file history being built in the background.
If you’re converting personal photos, brand visuals, or client files, you can do it without worrying about where the images end up afterward.
Each conversion shows useful details, including:
the original format and the new format
file size before and after
image dimensions when available
That way you can double-check what changed before you download everything.
Got Questions?
We've got answers
1. Can I make a JPG image transparent by converting it to PNG?
Not directly. JPG images don’t support transparency, so if your original image has a solid background, converting it to PNG won’t automatically remove it. You’ll need to remove the background first — using an image editor — and then save it as a PNG to preserve transparency.
2. Why is my converted file larger than the original JPG?
That can happen, especially if the original JPG was heavily compressed. Formats like PNG or high-quality WEBP don’t always shrink the file — in fact, they may increase the size to preserve more detail. If you're aiming for a smaller file, try lowering the quality setting before converting to WEBP.
3. What’s the difference between PNG and WEBP? Which one should I use?
Both formats have their strengths. PNG keeps all the image detail and is perfect when you don’t want any quality loss — like for logos, graphics, or design work. WEBP is better for saving space. It’s a modern format that gives you smaller file sizes with decent quality, making it ideal for websites and digital publishing.
4. Can I convert more than one JPG at the same time?
Yes. You can upload up to 20 JPG files in one session.Just select all the images you want to convert, choose your desired output format, and download the results as they’re processed.
5. Will my JPG turn into an animated GIF if I choose GIF as the output?
Not unless you're starting with a sequence of images. A single JPG image converted to GIF will remain a single-frame file. To create an animated GIF, you’d need multiple frames or images combined — this tool doesn’t handle that kind of animation.
6. Why isn’t my file uploading?
Most likely, it’s not a JPG. This tool is designed to work only with .jpg or .jpeg files. Other formats — like PNG, WEBP, or HEIC — aren’t accepted and will be blocked automatically to avoid processing errors.
7. What happens to my files after I upload them?
Your files are processed only for the purpose of conversion and are not stored, tracked, or used in any way after that. Nothing is saved or shared. Once your session ends, the files are no longer accessible
